Freedom Run

I know I am a little slow in posting our 4th of July activities, but I really wanted to do it. We all got up early 4th of morning to run the 5k in Centerville. Buck and I ran with the kids in the strollers and finished under a minute apart. I finished in 29:15 and Buck got 30:00. We were very proud since our goal was to finish in 30 minutes or under.

Kari enjoyed stretching before her race. She ran the 1/4 miles which was for kids 6 and under. She ran that so fast!!

After the race, we stayed for the Centerville Parade. Kari loved picking up all the candy that was thrown her way. Hayden and Kari always love spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Campbell and Heidi.

We ended up in Fairview with Sam and Julie and fam and spent the night in their RV. There were fireworks that night and swimming the next day, we had a great time. THANKS!!

The kids had the most fun playing with a hose.

Kari enjoyed wearing Emily's bike helmet around camp.

CAUGHT ON TAPE!!

Hayden has a routine at every bath time. He likes to pee within a minute of hitting the water. I don't know if it's the warm water that does it to him, but he always does it. I put him back in the baby bath so I could catch it on video without exposing him.

Bear Lake June 2008

Bear Lake was a lot of fun once again. While we were there, the Cottages (Housing Assoc.) held a household tournament. Heidi and I won both the 3-legged race and the water balloon toss. We even got a trophy because we won the most games.

We got a water flower for Kari to play with, but I think the adults enjoyed it the most.

BJ and Hayden staying dry under the deck.

Lookin good at the pool. Kari is getting braver with water splashing in her face, but she is still quite timid. I hope to expose Hayden to that more so he is not afraid.

Kari showing off her sweet nails that had frogs painted on them and her cute cheeks with bees and flowers.

Layton Surf N Swim

It has become tradition to go to Layton Surf N Swim at least once a summer with all the cousins. They had a lot of fun and enjoyed a picnic with Grandma June.

The whole crew having fun in the sun.

Hayden is teething and loves to chew on fingers!

Kari just kicking and splashing around having a great time!

Daddy tossing Kari up and down.

What a cute pair. Gotta love them!

Grandma June is a lot of fun! She always has more than enough energy for her grandchildren! We just love her!

Missing a Tooth

OUCH!!

Soccer is a hazardous sport. I've played for 20 years and never had a serious injury until now. I play in a coed indoor soccer league and got hit in the face in my game on June 11. The ball was heading towards our goal and I was guarding a girl who was trying to score. My goalie beat us both to it and booted it out. Unfortunately for me, out was straight at my face. I was about 5 feet away and knew it was coming at me. As I went to block my face, the ball made contact with my hand and the lower knuckle on the back of my thumb hit my tooth. I was down for a minute, but not unconscious. My right front tooth had broke off the front and was hanging on in the back. This was a 10:30 pm game Wednesday night, so Buck was at home with the kids. Luckily my mom had come to watch and she made me leave the game and took me to the ER. We got there about 11:00 pm and thankgoodness Dr. Flammer had just started his shift. We were in and out in no time. Also, a dentist that BJ had recommended came to the ER, waited with us, then took me to his office and extracted my tooth til 2:00 am. I can't forget Heidi who came to our house and watched the kids while we were out. THANK YOU! I think we have been quite blessed through this experience. Everything has gone as smooth as possible for what we had to deal with.

Here is a close up of my broken tooth and fat lips. Isn't it attractive!

Here I am sitting in the dentist's chair at about 2:00 am.

My temporary fix is called a flipper (a retainer with a tooth on it). I just got my implant (metal rod screwed into my bone) on Tuesday. The flipper still covers that, and after I am all healed in about 4 months, they will screw in a fake tooth to the rod. Doesn't that sound like fun!

Grandma's New Puppy!!

Grandma Campbell finally got a new puppy. She got a Bernese Mountain Dog, who is so stinkin cute! She flew in from Missouri Monday morning and is just a sweetheart!

Here's Gertrude "Gerty"

Hayden is already good at sharing. Care for a binky?

Kari is a bit nervous around Gerty. She likes to pet her, but does not like Gerty to jump up on her or lick her. I think they'll both take a little time to get used to each other. It'll be a lot of fun.

Fun With the Flammers

We just had a great visit from the Flammer family. Brandon had to come take the Boards for Medical School and of course the rest the fam had to come to visit those of us still in Utah. The cousins had lots of fun together as well as the siblings.

We went to Lagoon and the kids got to ride the Merry-Go-Round, then we played a game of Mini Golf.

Everybody getting buckled in and hanging on for a crazy ride on the Merry-Go-Round. Even Hayden is holding on in the back left.

Kal and his Mommy hanging on tight!

The girls loved mini golfing, they played the hole ahead of us. They had some good hits on occasion.

Kari about lost her arm trying to get her ball back out.

All the kids got fun souvenirs, the boys got spiders and the girls got caterpillars.

Kal thinks that just because he's older, bigger, and louder that he can push Hayden around. I guess he's right!

Brandon's parents were nice enough to let us swim in their pool. The kids had a grand time!

We miss you already!!
